Ascension Day

Ascension Day marks the day when Yahshua (Jesus Christ) ascended up into Heaven. It was 40 days after his resurrection from the dead, (Sunday April 12, 2009 count 40 days, = Thursday, May 21). "Moses brought out of Egypt a timid nation, and in the space of forty years trained it for the task of conquering the Promised Land; Christ in forty days trains his apostles to be bold and patient instead of cowards.

Father God is calling us to be a people set apart who celebrate His set-apart seasons and times. This includes the Feast of First fruits where in Biblical times the High Priest would wave a sheaf of barley before the LORD in the temple. The first-fruits offering are the first crop to be harvested in Israel at the beginning of the Biblical year. This was a prophetic picture of Yahshua rising from the dead and becoming the “First-fruits” offering when He presented himself before the Father.

The most awesome thing about this account is that He went to prepare a place for us, AND will come back in the same way! We who know Jesus as our Lord and Savior will meet him in the clouds (1 Thessalonians 4:17). And that day is coming soon… possibly much sooner than we think.

Possible place of Yeshua’s ascension.
