Evopan

Stefan visiting the new Evopan plant to see how chipboard is manufactured.

A proud division of WTI, which is a truly South African company that customers and suppliers can depend on. The division primarily focuses on the mass production of woodbased panels. We understand what our customers require when it comes to business and therefore to “go that extra mile” is an inherent quality of all at Evopan in all areas of our business.

By means of technologically advanced machinery we're able to lead the way by offering a wide range of superior quality panels and with passionate people we're able to bring these products to the market efficiently. We are located in the heart of the commercial hub of Southern Africa and due to our infrastructure we’re able to be bold in what we can offer our customers. We create our own "bench mark" through continuous improvement and constant questioning. We strive to be the preferred choice melamine faced panel supplier in our sector.

Our expansive factory is fully equipped to facilitate the pre-production, production and packaging of wood-based panels.

Through a process of pressure and heat, wood chips made from wood waste such as alien species and urban wood waste, is compounded and formed into a chipboard panel which is then surfaced with melamine or veneers in various décors or species respectively.

Our wood-based panels are then packed and ready for delivery across the country.

Soup and bread

One of the things we love about winter is the food and we would like to thank Pat for spoiling us with her hot vegetable soup for lunch today.

Freshly baked bread in our Siemens oven
(6-8 minutes on 180 degrees thanks to Woolies)

Siemens induction hob. (needs induction pots)

An induction cooker uses a type of induction heating for cooking. A coil of copper wire is placed underneath the cooking pot. An oscillating current is applied to this coil, which produces an oscillating magnetic field. This magnetic field creates heat in two different ways. It induces a current in an electrically conductive pot...(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Induction_cooker)

Pancakes

The current rain and cold has brought memories back from the past.
As a youngster we called this pancake weather. We use to phone Oupa Douw and ask him to make us some pancakes.
The whole family jumped in the car and we left for Parkhurst. Oupa Douw was a master at baking pancakes- he turned the pancakes by flipping them into the air and catching them again, imagine the sparckle in our eyes seeing this.

And so the tradition continues at Optima Kitchens, Rain and cold = Pancakes with cinnamon sugar and lemon juice followed by a cappuccino.
(Ouma Alida and Winkie are our pancakes experts and I am the local weather man)

We look forward to soup by Pat this coming Wednesday!
